Apollo School of Nursing was established in the year 1992 which is approved by Directorate of Medical Education, Govt. of Tamil Nadu by its G.O.No 817 dated17.07.1992 and recognised by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi & Tamil Nadu Nurses & Midwives Council, Chennai.

Admission Strength:

60 per annum. Academic year starts from the month of August. Admission of students shall be once in a year. The first batch of Nurses graduated in the year 1995, and thereafter 27 batches graduated with cent percent results and Ranks at State level in the Government Board Examinations.

3yrs (after Passing +2 with any Subject / Group)

Location:

Constructed in a sprawling campus, spread over 4 acres of land, the Apollo School of Nursing has world class physical infrastructure. It is located at Ayanambakkam, 5 Kms from Koyambedu bus terminus (CMBT) in poonamallee high way near Ambattur, Vanagaram and Thiruverkadu, well connected to the Railway station. The well-planned infrastructure, encompasses academic block, administrative block, faculty offices, Library, Laboratories, Auditorium and hostel blocks.

Admission Criteria

Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV
Minimum education:

10 +2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.

10 +2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/ English Elective or Health care Science- Vocational steam only, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.

10 + 2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.

Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.

Candidate shall be medically fit

Candidate shall be admitted once in a year.

For foreign Nationals: The entry qualification equivalency i.e 12th standard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

 

The candidates seeking admission to Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery Course shall obtain the prescribed Application form from the Apollo School of Nursing or shall Downloaded Application form from website from the month of March onwards and shall submit the dully filled in form along with the original 10th, +2 Mark Sheet, +2 Transfer Certificate, Community Certificate, Conduct Certificate (& Migration, Genuineness & Equivalency Certificate for other state candidate only) to the Principal of Apollo School of Nursing along with the certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer stating that the candidate is fit to undergo the selected course. Admission Procedure

Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right and the institution reserves the right of Admission through

Duration of the Course

Application  can  be  obtained  by  sending cash / DD for Rs.750/- in favour of “Apollo School of Nursing”, payable at Chennai or can come in person and collect the Application form.

 

General Regulations

 
Enrollment

The candidates selected are expected to enrol their names with the DME / Chairman – TN Govt. Board of Examination, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai-10 on admission by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form and original certificates.

 
Payment of Fees

All the candidates shall pay the prescribed fees fixed from time to time to the school subjected  to rules & regulations of Apollo Hospitals Educational Trust. Fees once paid will not be refunded. Fees will be changed as and when required. The scheduled of fees shall be obtained from the administrative office of AHET.

 
Working Hours

The ordinary school day shall consist of not less than 8 hours. The school will be functioning full day from Monday to Saturday between 8.30a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

 
Medium of Instruction

The medium of Instruction of the course will be in English.

 
Curriculum

The curriculum and the syllabi  for the Diploma in General Nursing shall be prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council. Academic year starts from the month of August  every year.

 
Uniform
 

The Students are required to wear the prescribed uniform during their Clinical Experiences & Community field practices. Three sets of clinical uniform with Two pairs of shoes and Two sets of community health nursing uniform will be provided by the school upon payment on admission..

 
Attendance

Student must have minimum of 80% attendance in theory and 100% of clinical attendance in each year to appear for the Govt .Board Examinations.

 
Vacation & Leave

A total of 4 weeks of Annual Vacation is planned and the students are permitted to avail the same as 2 weeks in the month of December and 2 weeks in the month of May every year or after completing the Govt. Board exams. Public holidays are availed as per the rules of the institution. Unauthorized leave will be deemed as absenteeism which will attract disciplinary action

 
Placement

Students after successful completion of the course & Registration are immediately absorbed as full fledged staff Nurses in the chain of Apollo Hospitals or anywhere on regular basis with salary as per the institutional scale.
