Apollo, as it stands today, is the realization of the dreams of its dynamic Chairman Dr. Prathap. C. Reddy. Who established the first corporate hospital in India in 1983. What began as a dream to provide medical excellence to the millions of Indians who perished simply because essential medical care was not available in India, turned out to be a saga of success

Excellence, literally meaning unparallel superiority is the quintessence of Apollo hospitals. This is reflected in many areas – be it infrastructure, services, technology, informatics and medical and nursing education, above all the calibres and brilliance of our health care fraternity.

The tiny seed that was sown two decades ago has grown into mammoth proportions and Apollo has spread its wings not only to the other states of the country, but also to the world across the seas. Today Apollo boasts of over 50 hospitals with 8,500 licensed beds and over 10, 000 employees in India, rest in Asia and Africa.

The Apollo hospitals group has achieved the unique distinction of achieving JCIA accreditation for its hospitals at Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ludhiana,Bengaluru and Kolkatta. Indraprastha Apollo hospitals Delhi became the first hospital in India, while Apollo Hospitals Chennai became the first hospital in South India to achieve this unique and coveted accreditation

Apollo telemedicine network foundations were commended for its primary efforts to introduce telemedicine to the rural population, by the former US President Mr. Bill Clinton after he viewed a live teleconsultation at C ll conference in Hyderabad.

Apollo’s achievements are so many that listing them all would be a Herculean task.

 
The Mission

The Madurai Apollo College of nursing will provide high quality graduate education with appropriate services and resources to promote students learning, retention and academic success. It will foster faculty, staff and students outreach through services. The college will further the intellectual, artistic, and cultural life of the students and the community. The college will support scholarship, artistic, creative endavours and faculty and staff development. It will regularly review the curriculum offered, and recommend necessary additions and deletions to meet changing needs of the students and the community.

 
The Vision

Madurai Apollo College of Nursing, an exemplar of excellence in teaching and learning, place its highest priority on providing outstanding graduate education, resulting in national recognition in academics and in scholarly, artistic, and creative achievement. The students will be well prepared for the responsibilities of life within a culturally diverse and globally interdependent society. The students will address the changing needs of the humans in the hospital and community to state an outstanding value for the resources invested in the institution.

 
Nursing at Apollo

What makes Apollo Outstanding in all its endeavours is the personalized care that is given to the patients. The nurses are the pride of Apollo and their motto ‘Services with a smile’ is meticulously translated into action while serving the sick. An Apollo nurse is not merely a caregiver; she is a computer savvy, confident and highly resourceful person who can deftly handle the ‘state – of – the – art’ equipment in the hospital. Endowed with the unique qualities of love, courage and mercy which is the hallmark of the nurse, an Apollo Nurse is much in demand in today’s modern health care system..

 
Apollo Hospitals Educational Trust (AHET)

The onus being on holistic preparation of nurses, the AHET, was established in the year 1996, with the twin objective of education and manpower development. The AHET is headed by our enterprising Chairman Padmabhusan Dr. Prathap C. Reddy and our versatile Managing Director Ms. Preetha Reddy, Mr. V. Satyanarayana Reddy, Chief operating trustee as the operational head of the college & trust.
